About the job

Are you looking for a company that designs, develops and manufactures their own products including software/firmware under one roof? Would you like to be challenged and contribute in a multidisciplinary team of software developers, chemists, chip designers, mechanical engineers and researchers? Then this is the job for you!

As a Software Engineer you will be part of the R&D team and involved in firmware and software development, with possibility to step outside your field now and then. You will work closely with experienced software and electronics engineers and on occasion with our Swiss Sensirion colleagues. You will learn about all aspects of our instrument, the gas chromatograph, and quickly discover it is a complex embedded system with advanced electronics, versatile firmware, various sensors, valves, control loops, fluidic chips, thermo-conductivity detectors and much more. Thereby you will come in contact with and gain knowledge of other fields that are involved such as chemistry, physics, explosion safety, customer-specific application development and our in-house processing of chips and assembly/testing of the instruments.

We are open to starters or engineers with a couple of years work experience.

Your activities

• Build and improve firmware/software (Rust, C)
• Determine requirements and write design documentation
• Contribute to making vital decisions about the system architecture
• Analyze complex technical problems and find solutions
• Sideways work on software for advanced test equipment and on our measurement database
• Monitor and maintain the system, e.g. improve efficiency and stability
• On occasion execute hands-on measurements in the lab

What is your strength?

Analyze complex technical topics and come up with practical solutions, further elaborate and document. Enjoy working within a multidisciplinary R&D team and make use of your “soft” skills to work well with others. Work with passion in the intertwined areas of electronics and firmware with great attention for detail.

What do you need?

• Relevant technical BSc/MSc education (computer science, software engineering, embedded systems engineering, electrical engineering, IT)
• Relevant experience with firmware/software development
• Experience with and understanding of (embedded) electronics
• Experience in Rust programming is a pre
• Experience in product development by means of job/internship is a pre
• Effective communications skills in English and preferably Dutch
• Resident in The Netherlands and if applicable a permanent working permit
